AFCAT 02/2024: Indian Air Force Invites Applications for Commissioned Officer Posts

AFCAT 02/2024 – Notification details

The Short Service Commission (SSC) in Flying and Ground Duty (Technical and Non-Technical) branches is open for applications from qualified Indian residents. The Indian Air Force (IAF) has published the AFCAT 02/2024 announcement. For the NCC Special Entry Scheme for the Flying branch, online applications are also being accepted. The first day of the classes is set for July 2025.

 

An online exam is part of the AFCAT 02/2024 selection procedure. Shortlisted applicants then have an interview with the Air Force Selection Board (AFSB). The Air Force Academy Dundigal near Hyderabad would be the training facility for the chosen applicants. Eligibility Criteria

Nationality: The AFCAT 02/2024 application is only open to Indian nationals.

Age Restrictions: As on July 1, 2025, the Flying Branch will have an age restriction of 20 to 24 years. This age restriction can be lowered to 26 years for applicants who possess a current, valid commercial pilot license from the DGCA (India). As of July 1, 2025, the age restriction for Ground Duty (Technical and Non-Technical) branches is 20 to 26 years old.

Educational Requirements: Graduation is the bare minimum of schooling needed. The precise educational prerequisites, however, change according on the branch you’re applying for. The official announcement has comprehensive details on educational requirements.

Application Process

Through the official website, https://careerindianairforce.cdac.in OR https://afcat.cdac.in, candidates may apply online for AFCAT 02/2024. The period for online applications will be open from May 30, 2024, at 11:00 AM, until June 28, 2024, at 2:45 PM.

Applicants must register on the website and accurately complete the online application form with their personal and academic information. Candidates must upload the necessary files in accordance with the guidelines provided in the announcement. The application cost for those using the AFCAT entrance is Rs. 550 + GST. On the other hand, applicants who use the NCC Special Entry are not required to pay the application cost.
